The chelating Action of D-penicillamine on Inorganic Mercury Poisoning

Abstract
The author has experienced two cases of chronic inorganic mercury poisoning that occurred at a tungsten rod manufacturing factory.
The mercury concentrations in workroom air were 0.1 and 0.45§·/§©. The diagnosis was established by clinical and laboratory findings. After 14 weeks of treatment with oral D-pe-nicillamine, both cases were discharged without any complication. The effect of D-penicillamine on mercury poisoning were briefly reviewed.
